Engine choices for the Sonic LT sedan and hatchback include a 6-speed transmission using an ECOTEC® Turbo 1.4L engine that delivers 138 hp @ 4900 rpm and 148 lb-ft of torque @ 1850 rpm in auto transmission, 2500 rpm in manual transmission versions, or a ECOTEC® 1.8L 4-cylinder engine which delivers 138 hp @ 6300 rpm and 125 lb-ft of torque @ 3800 rpm. There is not much to say about the performance when it comes to city drives as it outperforms itself in the normal modes but open it up on the highway in the turbocharged mode and it throws you back with its sheer power as it surges ahead.

Safety

Chevy’s are stacked with standard and available safety features and the Sonic LT has managed to attain a balance between safety and looks from every angle. You are protected by 10 standard air bags and a high-strength steel safety cage and preventive technology includes Standard rear vision camera, available Forward Collision Alert system, available Lane Departure Warning system and available Rear Park Assist.
